The Kamakurabori Museum, located on the third floor of the Kamakurabori Kaikan, is the only museum that introduces the history and works of Kamakurabori. It is used by many people as a place of history and culture, experience and exchange. The permanent exhibition displays about 50 works and materials of Kamakurabori, a traditional craft that boasts a history of about 800 years. Take your time to appreciate masterpieces from the Muromachi period to the present day while learning about the production process and history. In the experience class (2 hours), you can experience Kamakurabori production under the careful guidance of a dedicated instructor. It is a program that even beginners can enjoy casually. (Reservation required in advance from the official website / Fee required. As of May 2022, only groups are accepted) The first floor of the Kamakurabori Kaikan has a cafe, shop, and gallery. At the cafe, you can taste seasonal vegetarian cuisine using Kamakurabori tableware. At the shop, we sell Kamakurabori works, including the tableware used in the cafe.
