Yuigahama / Hase / Gokurakuji Area

Hojo Yasutoki built Jojuin Temple on the site where it is believed the great monk Kukai conducted Buddhist training. The principal image is Fudo Myoo. The temple is also known for its matchmaker deity. There is a great view over Yuigahama from the temple.

*The 262 hydrangeas blooming on the approach to the shrine were donated to Minamisanriku Town, Miyagi Prefecture in June 2016. After that, new bush clover seedlings, the flower of Miyagi Prefecture, were planted. (Currently there are about 30 hydrangeas)
