Kamakura Matsubara-an, a soba restaurant that has been popular in Kamakura for many years, has opened a small luxury hotel, HOTEL AO KAMAKURA, in Koshigoe, Kamakura, where you can enjoy food and drinks to your heart’s content and relax while watching the changing blues of the sea and sky.

All 16 guest rooms have a spacious layout to allow you to spend private time comfortably. Each room is named after a traditional Japanese color of blue. The unique rooms, each with their own blue color, create a space that you can’t find anywhere else.

Weddings can also be held at HOTEL AO KAMAKURA. The garden chapel with a terrace overlooking Enoshima allows you to hold an open-air wedding ceremony under the blue sky. You can spend a special time with your guests while feeling the sea breeze.

The banquet halls, UMI and SORA, on the 4th floor can be used not only as wedding reception halls, but also for various purposes such as dinner parties after memorial services, meetings, and exhibitions.

Kamakura Matsubara-an Ao, a soba restaurant on the first floor, welcomes you with freshly made soba noodles, dishes made with plenty of fresh locally caught fish and vegetables, locally produced sake and beer, and a selection of wines from Japan and abroad. Breakfast is also available at the restaurant. The small dishes include “Soba-ya’s rolled omelet,” as well as whitebait from Shonan, vegetables from Miura, plums and kamaboko from Odawara, and homemade seaweed tsukudani. Enjoy with carefully cooked porridge.
