After it was destroyed during the fall of the Kamakura Shogunate, Hongakuji Temple was later built on the site. The current Ebisudo Hall, rebuilt in 1981, is counted as one of the "Kamakura-Enoshima Seven Lucky Gods." and attracts many visitors as a power spot for prosperity in business and good fortune in relationships. The temple comes alive in January with the "Hatsu Ebisu" festival (Jan 1–3) and "Hon Ebisu" (Jan 10), attracting many visitors to celebrate the New Year. After climbing the 108 steps to the main hall, you’ll get an amazing view overlooking Yuigahama Beach! 🌊 It's clear that this spot once served as a crucial defensive position for Kamakura. JojuinTemple is most famous for its Matchmaking Fudo Myoo, which is an emanation of the main deity, Fudo Myoo! 🙏✨ It's extremely popular for bringing various good relationships—not just in romance, but also in work and personal connections. It's even recommended to save a photo of it as your phone wallpaper for good luck! You can also write a prayer onto special wooden tablets called gomagi, which are later burned in a sacred fire before the Buddhist deity Fudo Myoo as an offering. The sight of the archer successively shooting three targets from horseback is like a living picture scroll of history.
